New MenuThe new menu contains actions which will create common elements.
The new menu currently consists modules, instances and components. New ModuleThe new module option will create a new module (entity/architecture for VHDL). The advantage of this operation is that you can create the module with existing signals from the current module.
The dialog which opens allows for selection of the module name as well as connecting the inputs and outputs from the current module. New InstanceThe new instance action will create a new instance inside the current module. This dialog will also be called from completion when completion is the instance.
The new instance dialog show above allows selecting the module and library from the combo boxes, as well as selecting the instance name and editing the connection through the External column of the table. The External column supports completion as well as an option to select from the variables in context by right clicking on the column. New Component (VHDL Only)The new component action will create a component from an existing module.
